Description
We understand how important it is for you to build a roof that can withstand all kinds of extreme conditions. So we combined the superior strength of concrete tile with the beauty and architectural adaptability of traditional materials. Now we offer the broadest range of tile colors, textures and styles to satisfy your design requirements – durable materials that are easy to work with, and Roof System Components to make a tile roof installation easier. We also can provide you with instruction on how to properly and efficiently install roofs at one of our training facilities.
As the temperature under the tile changes, the heated air rises towards the ridge, drawing the cooler outside air into the sub-tile space through the Vented Eave Risers.
Average Price: $6-$14 S.F.
Warranties: 7 Years labor & up to 50 years for material.
These Warranties cover the Material only, in most cases. It’s up to your Contractor to provide the labor, which is generally limited to 7 years in Hawaii , by law. Monier has a Lifetime Warranty, but they acknowledge that, depending on the area, it may need to be re-painted to look good. Our experience in Hawaii suggests that happens in about 15 to 20 years. Decra Tiles offer a 50 year Transferable Material Warranty and 120 Wind Uplift, which is great. Most Wood Shakes don’t come with a specific Material Warranty, so at LeakMaster offer our own for 7 years, which is any contractor’s legal maximum.

Leakmaster’s Opinion
If you don’t have Monier Concrete tiles on your existing home now, you probably can’t reroof with Monier because your home may not be built to withstand the weight. If it can, then it is a very durable roof that has proven the test of time in Hawaii. If you have an old Monier roof, it can be recoated and made to last a long time–as long as the roofing felts are in good condition. Sometimes the felts burn up and turn brittle with age from the roof heat. If you are installing a new Monier roof we definitely recommend putting down a thick flexible “Self Adhered” underlayment that acts as the waterproofing barrier. Many of the lighter weight Monier tiles have had problems when the termite companies have had to tent the roof. Some of those guys are pretty big! We recommend sticking with the heavy weight tiles instead.

Cleaning my existing monier tile roof. What can I coat the tile with after waterblasting as some of the factory coating also comes off. My friend says there are 2 products, one is a dull cement based product and another is a paint which leaves a glossy finish. Which is better and longer lasting?
