Cedar, Unsurpassed Durability, Then and Now
The value and durability of real Western Red Cedar Shakes and Shingles have been known since the time of early Western settlers. Thanks to new innovations, the most appealing, premium quality cedar roofing is now better than ever. Yesterdays homes, as well as todays homes look great thanks to the unrivaled beauty of Western Red Cedar.
Cedar Is Preserved
Sure, you appreciate the wonderful properties of natural cedar. But will it last? Yes! Cedar shakes and shingles can be commercially pressure treated with Osmose brand CCA (chromated copper arsenate) preservative in treating plants near their source in the great Pacific Northwest. Osmose preservative treatment effectively provides secure, long-term protection against fungal decay and termite attack. The added protection provided by Osmose CCA preservative also limits the occurrence of unsightly growth of moss and mildew. Osmose CCA preservative fixes inside the wood cells and actually reduces surface weathering and color change. In fact, cedar shakes and shingles pressure treated with Osmose CCA is a permanent treatment which costs about the same as one topical treatment which is only effective for a few years.
Use With Confidence

Why Choose Cedar?
Other roofing materials just do not measure up. Consider that cedar shakes and shingles are up to five times more efficient than other materials for insulating value. And while most materials simply add weight to a building, a cedar roof actually improves a buildings structural integrity. Western Red Cedar roofing has been proven to withstand wind loads of 130 miles per hour. That cant be said about most other roofing. Cedar shake roofing submitted for testing is one of only a few roofing materials that has achieved a UL Class 4 Hail rating which qualifies for insurance premium discounts from some insurers. Simply put, todays cedar is the logical choice.
